I have a keen interest in all aspects of printmaking, both in a historical context and in contemporary fine art practice.
For me relief printmaking means the exploration of light and dark, line and texture.
The discipline of the technique requires a consideration of the means of mark making and the effective translation of an image into print.
My prints reflect the development of a visual language that has been synthesized from preparatory sketches and ideas. While cutting a surface I attempt to retain the energy and spontaneity of the initial idea. The process reflects my relationship with the subject matter
